Good readers know that getting into a reading "flow" is amazing! You know, when you're so into the book that you're not even thinking about the words or spending a lot of time and effort figuring out the story. It's more like you're in it experiencing a "movie-in-my-mind" or better yet, you feel like you're actually IN the book experiencing the action right along with the characters. Unfortunately things don't always work out this way and the "movie" or action comes to a screeching halt as your comprehension or understanding of what you read falters. This is my nephew. As you can see from the pictures he's a bit confused and his meaning has definitely broken down.! It's alright, little buddy! What I'd like to say to him and to the rest of you who've ever experienced this is that It's OK!!! It doesn't mean you're a bad reader! It happens to the very best readers out there! What matters most is what you do next, or the strategies you use to get back on track.
